I MISS ST MAARTEN

When going through some of my photos today, I sensed a "loneliness" to go back to St Maarten (SXM). Looks like I'll have to head back down there again soon so I can "recharge" my batteries and take some more of those "that's a fake" airplane photos. Here's a shot I took of a US Airways B757 landing in SXM. It does look "fake", doesn't it? Maybe that's how you can define a "good" photographer from a "better" photographer...on how "fake" their shots look. ;-)

LUECKE TX.........IN THE TREES

Every now and then when I'm flying around I see something that catches my eye. On the quick 24 minute flight from Houston, to San Antonio, we pass over a farmers field with a bit of a "kick" to it. He actually cut out his name in the trees. It just so happens that this is one of the few landmarks visible from space and is used by NASA to determine resolution for camera lenses. Pretty neat, eh? So, here's to ya Mr. Luecke! Thanks for the view!

BEAUTIFUL SXM SUNSET

Was sitting in my crashpad in Newark (EWR), and just happened to find this photo on the desktop of my computer screen......and had to post it for you. I think some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen have been in St Maarten (SXM). I'm sure you'll agree that the colors in this one are incredible. Now you know why I like SXM so much!!!!

PLUMBER ON THE BEACH

So I was minding my own business on the beach the other day and happened to notice a "plumber" out enjoying the sun. I can only surmise he was a plumber due to the "plumbers crack" he was displaying. ;-) I gotta tell you, you see EVERYTHING on South Beach, in Miami. I think the South Beach "what not to wear" calendar is getting closer to reality.

HERE'S TO LOOKING AT YOU BABE

A couple of months ago while I was at my girlfriend's sons tennis tournament, I happened to come across this little lizard checking me out. He's a whopping 2-3 inches long (smaller than my pinkie finger), but could really move around in a hurry. Funny how the little things in life can be so intriguing, isn't it? Click on the shot to make it larger.

VINO in EWR

I hadn't been in Newark for a few weeks, and was on my way to the gate this morning and saw this brand new, BEAUTIFUL, wine tasting gallery. Guess the passengers need something to calm them before a long flight, right? Funny thing though, is that these same passengers have no problem paying $8.00 for a glass of wine, but HATE paying over $49 for a ticket to fly them across the country............hmmmmmm.......... (but the wine tasting gallery is nice!)

FASHION POLICE.....EMERGENCY!!!

So I'm enjoying my nice relaxing day at South Beach in Miami, when this guy comes strolling by. I snapped a photo of him just to "shock and awe" you! Now HOW CAN SOMEONE DO THIS TO US? This is just plain wrong in my book. And yet, the folks doing this "eye terrorism" to us remain free to continue doing it and see nothing wrong with it. Is this really what freedom is about???? ;-) My girlfriend has suggested I make up a "South Beach Wear Faux Pas" calendar and put shots like this on it. Whaddya think??????

ARUBA!!!

Here's a shot I took when I was in Aruba (AUA), on one of my trips. The hotel where we stay has a private island, complete with shuttle boat to and from the hotel (it actually picks you up in the MIDDLE of the hotel!!), iguanas, and flamingos. Pretty neat place. This view is one of the more "picturesque" views on the small island. I certainly miss going down there ever since they put a larger plane on the route, but hopefully it'll come back to the B737 again some day.

WHO ARE THESE JOKERS?????

Went to the beach a couple of weeks ago and saw these two "jokers" planting themselves for a nice day in the sun. Why do some people always have to be "seen"? Anyways, they looked like tourists so I guess "sticking out in a crowd" was natural for them. LOL

FUN but SICK GAME...........TRY IT

I was on an airline pilot forum and found this link so everyone can try their hand at a successful water landing on the Hudson. If you land safely, watch what happens over the wings of the plane. Sorry I haven't posted anything lately. Been sitting up in my crash pad in Newark, freezing my butt off. Anyways, use the left and right arrow keys to fly the plane.........have fun. (Once the ad plays, the game will come up).

WATER LANDING!!!

The other day when my buddy Vinny was in town, we flew to Lake Okeechobee in an amphibious plane and did a few water landings. Talk about fun!!! I've downloaded a video for you to see what this looks like from the cockpit. Cool stuff, eh?
