SOUTH BEACH HAIRCUT???? ;-)

Today I decided to hit the beach for a few hours before I head back up to Newark, NJ (EWR) tomorrow morning for work. It's been sleeting/icing/raining up there for the past few hours, but it's 82 degrees here!! While I was sitting on the beach and taking in the sites, I saw this young lady with her friend taking in some warmth too. When I saw her hair, I couldn't help but wonder how you tell your beautician to do this type of thing. "I'd like a strand of hair here, shave this part but only to the ear, dye this part black, I'd like the tip white, I'd like a star cut into my hair over here, and oh, by the way, DON'T cut it too short!! LOL Anyways, when I was about to leave, the girls came and asked me to take their photo, and of course I obliged. I told the one young lady that I was going to use her "haircut" in my blog for the day and she wanted to see it, so........... Alex, Tammy, and Stephanie, here's your photos!!!

WHAT IS THIS????

Well, finally home for another DAY, and then back to work again. Seems we're so short of pilots that getting days off is getting to be harder and harder. Oh well, the life of a heavy equipment mover..... :-) While in Denver the other day, we experienced a bit of snowfall, and had to get our plane de-iced. Here's a shot of the lady who was "driving" our de-icing vehicle. They can literally drive the truck with all the fluid in its tank from this little booth. She seemed to be in a pretty good mood for having such a "thankless" job. Anyway, after 500 GALLONS of fluid was shot on our plane ($3500!!!!) we taxied off and went to Houston. All in a days work.

SNOWSTORM IN EWR

Well, home for a day and a half, and then back to Newark to sit "reserve" (standby) for three days and then hopefully back home for the weekend. Here's a view from my crash pad over the past few days as I waited to be called in to fly. I like snow, but only for skiing. It certainly isn't good for aviation. A lot of the folks I fly with say they don't want to live in the south because we don't have four seasons. Sure we do: summer, summer, summer, and of course, spring!!! Want to see my heating bill????? :-)

ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

While enjoying the sun and beaches in St. Maarten (SXM), it's neat to watch the little sand crabs digging their home for the day. They seem to sense or "see" movement, and whenever they do, they literally fly into their hole. After a couple of minutes, they stick their head out, usually have a claw full of sand (you can see the ball of sand this guy just tossed), and proceed to toss it about 4 or 5 inches away from the hole they're digging. Click on this photo for a closeup of this crabs' eyes. He seems to be cross eyed. As for the beach and watching crabs, that's going to have to wait for a while. I head back to Newark in the morning so I can beat the snowstorm that's due to hit there tomorrow night. How fun...... See you in a few days!

MARIA AND I in ORLANDO

Here's another recent shot of Maria and I in Orlando. You can tell I didn't take the shot since our feet are cut off........a photographer "no-no".......LOL. It would have been a great shot otherwise, but it still turned out nice nonetheless. One of the flight attendants on our trip took the shot as we waited to go to the all you can eat lobster buffet next to our hotel. It was great. I hope Maria's mom and dad like this photo, Maria es MUY GUAPA!!! ;-)
